Our cruises

About us

Shasa, meaning ‘Precious Waters’, is a stunning 30 foot catamaran, owned and captained by Jason O’Neal, who has over twenty years of sailing experience.

Licensed to carry 12 passengers, our aim is to provide our guests with a more intimate and personal service, and therefore numbers are limited to eight people.

Based in Holetown, we offer free transportation to and from the cruise terminal and west coast.

Once on board, you’ll be supplied with masks, snorkels and flotation devices, and for those less confident in the water, snorkelling instruction is available from Captain Jason or a member of the Shasa crew.

A range of complimentary drinks will be served throughout your day. Homemade banana bread is served on our snorkel cruises and white wine is offered with lunch on our 5 hour cruises.

Committed to respecting the environment and the marine life of Barbados we aim to make our tours as eco-friendly as possible.

Snorkel cruise

3 hours

Explore life beneath the waves as you get a chance to snorkel and swim with the beautiful sea turtles in their natural habitat.
Visiting the shipwreck or coral reef, you will also have the opportunity to swim with many varieties of tropical fish.

This cruise runs from 10am to 1pm.

Lunch cruise

5 hours

More leisurely than our snorkel cruise, you will have even longer to enjoy the glorious marine life.
We also take you on to a serene bay where you can enjoy a stroll along the beach before a delicious buffet style lunch of many local favourites is served on board.

This cruise runs from 10am to 3pm.

Sunset cruise

3 hours

This cruise is for the more romantic at heart!
After stopping to swim with the turtles and snorkel at the coral reef, sit back and enjoy the view as we sail along the beautiful west coast of Barbados watching the sunset.

This cruise runs from 3pm to 6pm.

Private charters

Flexible hours

Our private charter itinerary is very flexible, whether it be lunch, snorkelling or site seeing. You choose the setting and we do the rest.

Beach pick-up is available from your hotel or villa on the beach (weather conditions permitting)

“Barbados Water Sports”

A very pleasant combination of great sailing and snorkeling with a competent and friendly crew. Sites are shallow enough to enjoy the sights without submerging. The sailing portion of the outing is as good as it gets for speed and the exhilaration of power without a motor.

''SB17!!''

Our day on the water was one of the highlights of our trip to Barbados! We absolutely loved that it was a smaller boat and a restricted number of passengers as it felt more personable, plus we weren't crowded at all of the stop locations.

“The King party......perfect day”

we took the afternoon sunset trip for 3 hours, swimming with turtles and snorkelling with fish. Some of us were not great swimmers but with life jackets and great support from the guys we all had an amazing experience in the water and on the boat. Jason skippers the boat and his knowledge of sailing and the island was fantastic, he answered every one of our questions !!! the crew make you feel relaxed and go out of their way to make you enjoy the trip, don't hesitate to book the Shasa, you will love it

“Highly recommended! ”

We called Monday for a Tuesday cruise and Jason was helpful and friendly on the phone. The catamaran pulled up right on time
In exactly where they said they would be. Only 8 people aboard gave it a great intimate experience. Captain Jason and assistant Rory were accommodating and friendly. Drinks were generous. The snorkelling was easy and fun. Rory tried to pull us away from the group w the turtles to give us a more private excursion. Lunch was local, and absolutely delicious. The catamaran itself was beautiful; it was nice being on a smaller boat than the big excursions out of Bridgetown. Jason and Rory went above and beyond to ensure we were having a great time, engaged in good conversation, and knew us by name. We highly recommend Shasa Catamaran Cruises for a great day on the water. Thanks guys!

“Wonderful day at sea”

We opted for the 4 hour private cruise. We chose Shasa as we wanted more than 3 hours and the 4 hour private cruise made an affordable alternative to the 5 hour private cruises at $900 from the other operators.
Although chosen mostly on cost this was an excellent choice Jason and Rory were excellent hosts, with Rory providing assistance and reassurance to those in the water.
The lunch provided was excellent local food eaten on the boat and drinks were flowing freely all day.
If you want something more intimate and personal than some of the other much larger boats with 30+ people on board then this is an excellent choice.

'' Perfect Day!''

We went on a 3 hour tour with Jason during our cruise stop in Barbados. We were met on time at the terminal with a ride to the boat. Had 3 turtles to swim with for nearly an hour, then headed to snorkel near the reef and see fish. Rory was very helpful in the water and pointed out things we would of never seen on our own. Oh and the rum punch was awesome too!

“Must do”

A trip with Jason on Shasa is something you must do when in Barbados. Feeding the turtles or exploring the reefs under the guidance of Jason's assistant Rory is an unforgettable experience. Complimentary drinks were included on the three hour trip under sail and Jason' professionalism at the helm is second to none.

“Swimming with the turtles”

Great cruise, special attention given to the kids on the trip. Beautiful spots for swimming and snorkeling. The food was excellent. Would highly recommend Jason as a guide. Safety first, they take that very seriously.

“They think of everything!”

A friend who has been to Barbados +15 times told us about Shasa, and said it was a must. Jason and Alex sent a taxi and pickup was smooth and easy. I was initially nervous in the water, but their calm and easy demeanour soon floated this away. Rory was awesome, engaging respectfully with the turtles, feeding them and taking photos. We sat out front for the trip to the coral reef, it was perfection.....drinks were at the ready, and the guided tour of the reef and beach was easy and fun. A fresh water shower and banana cake on the way home, with genuine smiles and gratitude as we were returned to where we started. Highly recommend this tour, thank you for a wonderful start to our trip!
