Our cruises

About us

Shasa, meaning ‘Precious Waters’, is a stunning 30 foot catamaran, owned and captained by Jason O’Neal, who has over twenty years of sailing experience.

Licensed to carry 12 passengers, our aim is to provide our guests with a more intimate and personal service, and therefore numbers are limited to eight people.

Based in Holetown, we offer free transportation to and from the cruise terminal and west coast.

Once on board, you’ll be supplied with masks, snorkels and flotation devices, and for those less confident in the water, snorkelling instruction is available from Captain Jason or a member of the Shasa crew.

A range of complimentary drinks will be served throughout your day. Homemade banana bread is served on our snorkel cruises and white wine is offered with lunch on our 5 hour cruises.

Committed to respecting the environment and the marine life of Barbados we aim to make our tours as eco-friendly as possible.

Snorkel cruise

3 hours

Explore life beneath the waves as you get a chance to snorkel and swim with the beautiful sea turtles in their natural habitat.
Visiting the shipwreck or coral reef, you will also have the opportunity to swim with many varieties of tropical fish.

Lunch cruise

More leisurely than our snorkel cruise, you will have even longer to enjoy the glorious marine life.
We also take you on to a serene bay where you can enjoy a stroll along the beach before a delicious buffet style lunch of many local favourites is served on board.

This cruise runs from 10am to 3pm.

Sunset cruise

3 hours

This cruise is for the more romantic at heart!
After stopping to swim with the turtles and snorkel at the coral reef, sit back and enjoy the view as we sail along the beautiful west coast of Barbados watching the sunset.

This cruise runs from 3pm to 6pm.

“Perfect”

My group of 6 friends went out for a 3 hour private cruise with Jason and Rory. They were great hosts and we had a lot of fun with them. Rory swam around with us and showed us the reefs and turtles. He even dove down and got some great GoPro footage for me. Jason was very knowledgable and friendly. We were celebrating the 30th birthday of our friend and they even had a bottle of Prosecco to toast as we ended the cruise. The banana cake was extremely tasty also. The next day we ended up googling the recipe for Bajan Banana cake because it was so good. I would highly recommend booking a trip with Shasa.

“Thank you Shasa for the best birthday ever!”

A cruise with Shasa is a must if you are visiting Barbados, with a max capacity of eight passengers the experience is personal and chilled. Captain Jason and Rory are patient and professional, I had not snorkelled before so Jason kindly and calmly guided me through, which really set me up to make the most of our day on the water, and I loved it. We met turtles and a beautiful array of fish on our guided tour through the coral reef with Rory. The lunch provided was fresh authentic Bajan food, one of the best meals we ate through out our trip. It was my boyfriends birthday and his day was perfect, everyone on board toasted him with "happy birthday", he didn't have to worry about a thing, the atmosphere was unforgettable.

“Beautiful sailing day”

Awesome tour. The cab ride got us ahead of all the cruise ship tours and we beat the rush of people to the snorkel spots. We sailed, snorkeled, and relaxed on one of the best days of our vacation.

JASON was a great captain. Rory was awesome as a guide in the water. He showed us sea turtles, puffer fish, ballyhoo, etc. He made sure we had great video. He took our GoPro for a few minutes and we were amazed at the sea life he captured on video when we watched later.

We were served an great local meal. We always had full drinks and had a great day with just our family. I would highly recommend this tour!

“Hands Down the Highlight of our Vacation”

We were in Barbados with our entire family--all nine of us--the week before Christmas. Despite iffy weather and occasional rain squalls, plus the fact that mature turtles had long ago migrated to deeper seas, Jason and Rory gave us the excursion we were hoping for. We swam with a juvenile turtle, explored coral reefs where we saw tropical fish, and experimented with a sea urchin that latched onto our palms. At first, our youngest granddaughter became frustrated with her snorkel equipment but they patiently helped her overcome her fears and waited out her brief tantrum until she, too, happily swam with the fishes. It was a first time snorkel experience for at least four of us, and now everyone wants to do it again! Thanks, boys, for this wonderful introduction. The catamaran, of course, was divine; the crew informative and companionable. We were so glad we lucked out and this was our first choice! Highly recommend!

“Shasa catamaran snorkeling excursion”

This was the best shore excursion I have ever been on. We went on the five hour lunch snorkeling excursion. Jason, the captain, and Rory ,his first mate ,were very professional and exceptional hosts. First we snorkeled with the turtles , other boats were there but we were one of the first to arrive. We had an excellent time and got some tremendous pictures . then we snorkeled off a reef and saw plenty of fish.
The lunch was the best food we had during our whole vacation , and plenty of it.
After lunch, we went to a beautiful beach and swam for an hour . Jason and Rory made us feel right at home they were like a couple of brothers from another mother. Can't wait to go again!

“Great Sailing”

Jason and Rorey took four of us sailing and snorkeling, we had a great time fun for all. Our lunch was provided as part of the package, the food, fish, chicken, salad, coleslaw, Mac and cheese and salad , was the best lunch and very tasty. Jason had a taxi pick us up at the dock from our cruise ship and had us back in plenty of time to get back on the ship.
If you want to go sailing and do some snorkeling this is the one to take, when we come back we will go again.

You made my wife very happy, thank you

“Private Cruise”

I booked Shasa Cruises for a special sunset cruise for my inlaws. They were very prompt in returning my inquiries. I was a bit nervous sending arranging this for someone else but I could not have been more pleased. My in laws were picked up at their door and they came back completely raving about the time that they had. I will certainly recommend this outfit for anyone traveling to Barbados!

"Great boat trip"

We have been coming to Barbados for 6 years and always do a Catamaran trip. Finding Shasa last year was great. They don't take more than 8 and for our last two trips it's just been the four of us. Jason and Alex were great hosts last year and this year we were introduced to Rory. What great company the guys were taking us snorkelling to see turtles and fish on the reef. The food is fab the drinks flow and the boat really moves as Jason puts it through its paces if you are up for a bit of speed. A must for us and we are heading back on board in a few days time before we head back to -4 in the UK !!!
