Our cruises

About us

Shasa, meaning ‘Precious Waters’, is a stunning 30 foot catamaran, owned and captained by Jason O’Neal, who has over twenty years of sailing experience.

Licensed to carry 12 passengers, our aim is to provide our guests with a more intimate and personal service, and therefore numbers are limited to eight people.

Based in Holetown, we offer free transportation to and from the cruise terminal and west coast.

Once on board, you’ll be supplied with masks, snorkels and flotation devices, and for those less confident in the water, snorkelling instruction is available from Captain Jason or a member of the Shasa crew.

A range of complimentary drinks will be served throughout your day. Homemade banana bread is served on our snorkel cruises and white wine is offered with lunch on our 5 hour cruises.

Committed to respecting the environment and the marine life of Barbados we aim to make our tours as eco-friendly as possible.

Snorkel cruise

3 hours

Explore life beneath the waves as you get a chance to snorkel and swim with the beautiful sea turtles in their natural habitat.
Visiting the shipwreck or coral reef, you will also have the opportunity to swim with many varieties of tropical fish.

This cruise runs from 10am to 1pm.

Lunch cruise

5 hours

More leisurely than our snorkel cruise, you will have even longer to enjoy the glorious marine life.
We also take you on to a serene bay where you can enjoy a stroll along the beach before a delicious buffet style lunch of many local favourites is served on board.

This cruise runs from 10am to 3pm.

Sunset cruise

3 hours

This cruise is for the more romantic at heart!
After stopping to swim with the turtles and snorkel at the coral reef, sit back and enjoy the view as we sail along the beautiful west coast of Barbados watching the sunset.

This cruise runs from 3pm to 6pm.

Private charters

Flexible hours

Our private charter itinerary is very flexible, whether it be lunch, snorkelling or site seeing. You choose the setting and we do the rest.

Beach pick-up is available from your hotel or villa on the beach (weather conditions permitting)

"Sailing and snorkeling in Barbados"

Our sailing and snorkeling experience with Shasa was fantastic. We highly recommend anyone visiting Barbados to sail with Shasa.
Thank you for a great day in the Caribbean!

“Fantastic Barbados cruise”

Smaller than most of the catamarans which ply their trade in Barbados, Shasa can take 8 comfortably and we took 6 of us for an afternoon's snorkelling. Jason and Rory picked us up directly from our beach and took us to a couple of turtle spots than around another shallow reef for more snorkelling.

We had a great afternoon, with an easy relaxing sail up the coast. The hosts were terrific, helping the younger ones with the snorkelling whilst keeping everyone else engaged.

For a fantastic afternoon put I can't recommend Shasa highly enough - we'll be back next time we're on the island.

“Catamaran --snorkeling Barbados”

Our family is very thankful to you and Rory for our amazing excursion. It was perfect! Of all of our cruise ports, our kids have said Barbados was the best because of the boat ride and snorkeling! Of course, us parents agree too. Thank you for helping us create wonderful memories and thank you too Rory for capturing the images!

“Fantastic Catamaran for smaller groups”

We did a 3 hour cruise with Jason and Rory in March 2017, the boat was great, only seats 8 plus crew so you get a very good experience both on the boat and in the water as it is not nearly as crowded at the snorkeling spots as when you are on one of the larger boats. We had our 2 boys (ages 5&3) on board, this is the perfect operation if you are considering taking smaller childeren. Jason even watched our little guy for us on the second snorkeling excursion as he decided he did not want to go into the water again. Snorkeled with Sea turtles and a very large stingray...Overall a great experience on this boat and we would highly recommend it.

"Fabulous swimming with turtles and snorkeling"

We loved Shasa Catamaran Cruises! It was absolutely perfect for our group of 8 - excellent service, knowledge of the waters, a beautiful boat and just the right size.

“Great experience in a beautiful location”

It's hard to beat the west coast of Barbados - and the team at Shasa provide a really wonderful way to experience it. They took great care of us, from the moment we climbed on the boat at the beach to the moment to left them. The snorkeling was beautiful - the wildlife was amazing - and even first time snorkelers and weak swimmers were accommodated quite well. The team on the boat were native Bajans and knew the area like the back of their hands - and gave us quite a tour as we went to and from the sites.

“Great cruise with turtles”

Very competent and knowledgeable crew, made the trip quite relaxing. Enjoyed chatting with captain and crew, as well as fellow passengers. Excellent lunch served. Truly one of the highlights of our trip to Barbados!

“Barbados Water Sports”

A very pleasant combination of great sailing and snorkeling with a competent and friendly crew. Sites are shallow enough to enjoy the sights without submerging. The sailing portion of the outing is as good as it gets for speed and the exhilaration of power without a motor.

''SB17!!''

Our day on the water was one of the highlights of our trip to Barbados! We absolutely loved that it was a smaller boat and a restricted number of passengers as it felt more personable, plus we weren't crowded at all of the stop locations.
